I changed the oil on the car when I was a teenager for the original owner. I purchased the car in 2005, and drove it from Ohio to Texas. Only ran out of gas one time! Now I know when it's 1/4 on the fuel gauge, that means close to empty!

Graduating from Autocrossing and Solo I racing (SCCA Cal Club, SoCal), and no inclination for the 'cubic-dollar', fender-crunching, and/or 'cheater-squared' racing venues, I opted for Vintage. Idiotically, and against the common wisdom, I bought a non-running car. I bought it from an old man who had it in a Denver storage locker for 20 years after dropping a valve.Spent about $7k on a new head and an NOS gas tank from the Mercedes heritage people in Irvine. Used up some favors. Sold it to an engineer in Prague. I'll bet he made...

This was my first car that I bought from a friend of my dad's for $40. It was snot green and had practically no tops left to the fenders. I took my driving test in this car and think maybe the guy passed me to get out of the car faster. It did not last very long but it was super cool at the time.

My grampa gave up his license and gave me his car as my first car. Loved it even though it was a 3spd auto with 93hp. Floor it and it would leave a smell you could hardly believe but it was my first car and as such unforgettable.

Loved this car. Rode well but could corner well for a floating barge. The car always had a thing where after giving it the beans it would throw up an engine light and run horrible. Adds to its character.
-
The car was given to my by my father. It was a car he just didnt have time to drive anymore. He knew i always loved that car. The car is kept indoors and in good shape.

I was 17 in 85 or 86 when my dad handed it down to me. I think it lasted me 2 months or so before I totaled it in the Bronx. Wow, that must have been one of the saddest days in my life. I have several cars but my favorite is a 1971 Lemans Sport with a 400Ci 6.6L engine. I sort of restored it but I didnt do the right restoration in the...

Bought it from a Porsche mechanic that lost interest. He kept it in good mecahnical shape but had lots of rust spot. I bought it, took it to the Body and fender guy for a tripple black paint job. I made a few mistakes by not trying to get the proper front nose with the GTO hood which in fact was what it had according to the mechanic. ...

We would drive it around the fields and to get up a mountain road, we had to put it into reverse!!! We treated it pretty tough and I will never forget the fun w...

Probably the most advanced car I have ever owned. Like a robot on wheels. I liked my previous car interior better (benz 500) but this vehicle is my daily driver and still stands out in the street.

needed a better truck so I bought this, did not really care for this vehicle.
-
My father decided that we needed a car to get back and forth to school and to do errands, but being in high school the car was used roughly, but not as the 1929 Model A (no field hopping), and using the overdrive as a play thing, commenced to break that too, a year or so after!
-
My twin brother and I used it to go to Jr.College about 25 miles away and we, again, used it like a tank and did everything in it we could think of, including seeing how many people we could squeeze in to it, which was a fad at the time. We kept that good old "V-Dub" for 2 school years and I really liked it.
-
I bought this one to go to college about 750 miles away in Southern California. Drove this one faster than I should have and broke the steering colume gear shift a few months after I bought it and put in a floor shift, which of course made it a hot rod in my eyes, and you know what young men do in hot rods.....yeah I broke it!!! Had to ...

Just had to do the "Hot Rod thing" and cruised the roads at a whopping 8 miles a gallon (thank heaven gas was cheap then, about 35 cents a gallon unless a gas war was going on). Only real problem was if I laid on it, it would break "U-Joints", so I stopped with the lead foot until the trans went and being I didn't have the cash to fix it,...
-
It was stock and I put "series 70" tires and mag wheels on it (which at the time was the coolest to get) and it was a cruiser, but not what is called a cruiser today. It was just a cool chic picker upper!!!

This was the first cart I ever owned. I got it from my step father when I first got my license. Fortunately, everyone walked away... but the car wa...

Picked it up from a neighbor of mine when I was 15. It needed a transmission swapped in it so some family and me took it apart and swapped it. But a guy from my neighborhood bought it off me for what...

-
my girlfriend actually bought the car but it was "our" car. it started shutting off while driving then restarting it self as well as leaving a small puddle of oil everywhere it parked so it was traded in
-
This is the first car I ever bought on my own. It had problems, but I bought an old 1977 chevette that had a bad body and frame and transferred the engine into this '80 to keep it alive. I drove this car into the ground... literately. The day the front suspension failed and the car dropped to the ground I finally gave up the ghost and sol...

i got the truck from a friend who also got it from another mutual friend. it supposedly had a blown head gasket but i think it was just a case of someone thinking they knew more than they actually did. i got it with the heads and engine accessories in the back cargo area and put it back together myself. it became my daily driver and still...

Bought this car a week after I got my lisence. Babied her for almost two years. Then my good buddy had a accident on the highway and was killed. The day of his funeral we all met up at the crash site. People started to do small burnoutz to remember him. So I lite up the mustang until she poped

Awesome offroad truck. Super low 1st gear .... Just take your feet off the pedals and aim it .... Climbs anything.
-
This was my first car. It was given to me by my step father as a congratulations for getting my liscense. It was his old daily driving econo-box that he used to get to and from work inexpensively. This was the first car I bought myself. I had just totaled the '76 Chevette that was given to me by my step father and needed a quick daily driver. I already had some experience with the Chevettes, so this car fit perfectly! And with the little bit of money I was generating at the time the price was right! The engine died on it about a ye...

I bought this car to resurrect my 1980 Chevette. I transferred the engine over to my 1980 to keep it alive and then sold off the rest to the local boneyard.

I bought this car as a stepping stone. The price was right. I ended up using it as a stereo system guinnea pig. I put traction bars on it, but soon learned what ...

I bought this car as the price was right and I had such good luck with the other one. I drove this one for a long time until the frame rusted out and gave way under the driver's side. Talk about a weird feeling... it flexed as you went over bumps. I sold it to the local boneyard.

Bought from a friend of a friend. I bought this car to steal the rear end to fix my Aspen which I had shattered the rear end on. I sold the remains off to the local boneyard.

I bought this one from a friend with full intentions of playing with the exhaust system. The plan was to redo the entire exhaust from engine to rear end. I put hooker headers and a custom cut exhaust into this car... man it sounded tough as hell!! I did some bodywork to it as well to try to shore up the rust so I could sell it. I ended up...

I bought this car off a lot in Madison. It was the next best car from the 1985 porsche I had originally targeted. (the insurance would have killed me... I was heart broken) Anyways... I traded my 1986 Toyota MR2 in on this baby. That hurt. This car was amazing though. I've had an f-body before and really missed the cornering capabilities, so the pain was worth it. I bought this truck so I could play with some countryside. It had 35's on it when I bought it. I did some land bruising with this thing and had fun doing it. There's nothing like looking out onto the hood of a '97 and knowing you can go "over" pretty much anything that gets in your way. This truck got me excited about off roading. I remem...

I bought this one from a local dealer. I was looking for a vehicle that could help me move large items as I was doing alot of home repairs with our first home. I bought this one to help me get to and from school when I wasn't at work. I had an aggressive schedule what with work, school, and the family. I neede to make sure I could get from point a to b to c in the snowy winters we have here in Wisconsin. This truck did so flawlessly. That 4.3l was amazing in the snow and ice!! Too bad it didn't ...
-
I bought this one by finding it on Autotrader.Com. I really enjoyed my '87 S10 Blazer and wanted another really bad. This thing was rust as hell, but I didn't care... it had heat! It was just as usefull as the '87 until the Mrs decided I had to get rid of the rust bucket.
-
Amazing handling! Never had I ever had a manual steerbox that was so agile. The mid-engine had alot to do with that. I did drive that car in the winter and loved watching the snow tornado in my rear view mirror just above the engine compartment due to the areodynamics of the body. The engine was failing and needed an overhaul, but I did n...

I traded in my '96 Dodge and '00 Firebird in on this one. I love the VTM and leather on this one. It's ugly as hell too!! I love that! But... like I've always said... you don't buy a t...

We traded int he Suzuki XL-7 for this ride and could not be happier. This is the cadillac of trucks. Tons of features and loads of power.

Bought this truck to supplement the Firebird's lack of snow handling capabilities. Ended up putting a water pump, serpentine, and new exhaust system in it to keep it legal. Had a little fun making a cherry-bombed dual exhaust out of it... that was a tough sounding system. Loads of power. When I hauled the toys I could barely remember they...

I bought this car to try to save some money getting to work. I can't tell you how much fun it was banging through the gears on this little car! I drove this car for years before I had to trade her in. I still have people telling me they saw my old Nissan somewhere. Kinda hard to miss a bright purple Sentra. Hahahaha.
-
We bought this car for the Mrs. It was great on gas, and had plenty of power. This is the first 4-valve engine I've ever experienced and I gotta say... with that much torque it won't be my last. I'm really impressed by the power this thing put out!

Blazer was given to me by my father, it was my first vehicle. Use to use it going back and forth to school and used it for mild off roading. The s-10 Blazer was nice suv and was a tough truck.

My boss sold me this for $1, basically to just get it off his property at his cabin. It was sunk into the ground as it had been sitting for years. My father-in-law gave me this truck, and it broke down 10 miles down the road. I towed it to my parent's place to work on it. There was no oil pressure, so I was going to put in a new oil pump. I bought this vehicle just to flip and make some money. Paid $125, put about $50 in parts into it. Spent a weekend working on it and cleaning it up, then drove it around for a couple of weeks. I sold it for $325 to a friend of a friend. Fun little car, great mileage. www.cookeagency.com

My cousin's father-in-law sold me this for $50 because of a bad oil leak. My intent was to fix the leak and turn it into a fun summer driver. A friend was looking for that exact car for a dirt track racer, and offered me $250 as it was. Another vehicle that would've been fun to keep and fix up. www.cookeagency.com

I did some body work for a friend's father-in-law and he gave me this truck as pay. It had a 350 with dual exhaust, was pretty solid other than the rocker panels. I put new rockers in and carpeted the interior, then drove it for about 6 months before selling it.
-
I bought from a friend's dad when he bought a new truck. My friend's brother had done some body work, but never painted it, so there was a lot of primer and no tailgate. I painted it up, put on a tailgate and drove it for a couple years before selling to a friend who needed a vehicle. www.cookeagency.com

I needed a vehicle with good gas mileage for work and only had $2000 to spend. Loved this car but the optispark stranded me on the side of the road so I got rid of it.
-
Got this one for my wife to offset the minivan that she hated soo much. Sold it to one of our sons who is still driving it today.

I bought it my Jr year in high school. It was a cream colored car with a 250 inline 6 with a 3 speed manual on the floor. It was a very quick car, everyone thought it had a V8 in it. I traded it a couple of years later and have regretted it every since. I would love to have it back.
-
I traded my Camero in on it. I was looking for a bigger car. the car ran great but developed a problem of cutting out in the wintertime very aggravating. I traded it off a coulple of years later.
-
I sat down with the owner of the dealership and we went through the dealers 3 ring binder of options and I picked everything I wanted. $00 TA engine and the ws6 performance package were the major things I wanted. I wanted cruise control so I had to get the auto trans. Marriage and 2 kids later I needed to sell it for the money. I wish I...

Bought this to get out of the Aries. Need room for the kids. Nice dependable car but it had no power. Wife got it in the divorce.
-
Divorce car, nice dependable car for hauling the kids around. Lasted until the engine puked in 2000.
-
replaced the old Dodge with this one. Great Car! The 3800 engine runs great, reminds me of my TA with push back in seat power.
-
Bought it for 300 bucks, it was a pretty cool car till I look in the motor. This thing was leaking coolant all over the place. All the lines were bad in it had to replace the radiator, me and my dad called it the parts car because it seemed like every week it was something else.
-
Better had mileage and it was some what of a nice car. Bought it off my dad after I sold the grand am.

Hand me down from my parents. I could fit a WHOLE bunch of people in it. 2.4L 4cy was a dog though, barely got out of its own way, especially loaded up with a bunch of people. Totaled it on Beechmont Ave.
-
I begged for my parents to buy this one. It had chrome wheels, chrome rocker panels, neon lights underneath, and looked cool. Little did I know it was the biggest POS on earth. Replaced virtually every part on it, some twice, including the engine, clutch, etc, before parking it due to bad lifters. It was super cool though.
-
Hand me down from my brother. Cool car, had chrome 3 spoke wheels. No problems except motor ran out of oil and locked up.
-
First car I bought with my own money. I loved this car. Lots of good memories. No major problems with it.
-
Great moment in my life. I was making good money, and I could afford a nice car. This is the vehicle that turned me onto Toyotas and 4wheeling. I lifted it and had a lot of fun with it.
-
I bought this truck to build up to go offroad. I put a LOT of time and money into it. Solid front axle, Chevy 350 V8, 36" tires, etc. After having kids and the poor economy, I couldn't afford to take her 4wheeling anymore so I ended up selling it.
-
This was another hand me down. My dad bought it new in 93, put about 250k on it, my mom drove it for a while, then my brother drove it, then I got it. It had 350k on it when I sold it. Original clutch. Only major problem was a broken camshaft. Most dependable car I've ever owned.
-
-
Bough this truck as a beater and gas mileage. Good little truck. Sold it because I had a baby on the way.
-
-
Bought this after having a kid. My favorite truck. Super dependable. Don't think I'll ever sell her.
-
Traded my 88 4Runner plus cash for this. She sat in a barn for 20 some years. In pretty good shape, just all rubber is dry rotted and some minor rust. I got it running and drove it for a month or 2, and now I'm tearing it down and restoring it.
-
Deal of the century! Paid 1000 for it. Guy needed money quick. Its a 27 foot Class C mini motorhome. We use it at camp at Higginsport Ohio.
-
-
Was a go cart. Got me from A to B without a issue. Great Gas mileage. Slowest car I have ever been in and owned.
-
I bought my first car for 1400 and did alot of work to it and fell in love with it and i was very disappointed when i had to sell it after i was in a car accident.

-
My Dad bought me this car, a Fiat 128C At that stage I hated Fiats. I don't know why I hated them I just did.. My Dad could not understand why, as I have never driven one before. One afternoon after my Dad got home from work he told me that he wanted to go and show me something. I was very exited about this surprise. When we stopped at hi...

Love this Car, it is very luxurious and fast. This is a driving machine like all BMW's. I bought this car just after my first little girl was born.
-
Ever since the BMW Z3 came out I wanted one. I just love the looks of it. You can fold the roof down and just enjoy the wind your hair. This car is also great fun to drive. The ultimate driving machine
-
This was my "real" first car that my parents gave to me after receiving my drivers license. I have real in quotes because I only have very few memories with it and I barely drove it because there were problems with it. It kept dying and stalling. The fuse block under the hood eventually caught fire on the way to a dealership to trad...

After my first monte was towed away, I found this base model in a parking lot. I saw her and wanted her. A few years later, going into some mid level mods I fell in love with her. Galaxy silver body, black trim, rims w/ chrome lip, black tires, then list goes on. She looks absolutely amazing now from what I've done to her. I'm keeping her...

This was originally my sister's first car, but it was sold to me for $2 when she bought a brand new car. I drove the car for about a month after I put several months wo...

I got this truck right before I moved away to college. My friend was helping his elderly neighbor's daughter clean out her parents old house and this truck was there. The entire house was packed full of junk and her mother had passed away a few years before and her father was just put in a retirement home because he suffered from severe A...
-
This was my first real truck. I've put countless hours of work, customizing, and upgrading into it. I use it as my work truck, my daily driver, my off road toy, a tow truck, etc. I've put numerous lights, horns, electronics, speakers, CB, and a brush guard on it. Unfortunatly I had to replace the engine this summer (June 2012) after it ov...
-
I bought this car from my friend recently. It was his father's car and he passed away. He needed to sell off some of his vehicles and I was first in line for this car. Its a fun car to drive, and still runs great for having over 208,XXX miles. Its my daily driver now for fuel economy reasons.
-
Was my stepdad's friends car, i always loved it. He bought it got it all tuned up and it was my christmas present when i was 17.

Bought my first car at 15 for 500 bucks workin a part time job, it was red with black interior all original it was in great shape. Purchased with 327-365hp. Added headers and rock crusher. Wild idle cam, very lite and scarry fast at the time.
-
First new car out of college, not fast or too pretty, but was dependable.
-
Beutiful car, again not fast but very nice. Had swivel bucket seat!
-
First new Vette. Way cool. Not fast by these years, but still a blast to drive.
-
Bought as second car to drive winter months in Chicago. Vette hard to drive in snow!

-
Sold big car as only was driving few thousand mike per year. Bought used vette for fun, since did not want any car payments for the few mile a year I drove.
-
Very pretty car, faster than any previous vette I owned, but not that fast!
-
-
It was just a little four cylinder automatic but it was lowered all the way to the ground with a ground effects body kit and flowmaster duals. And best of all light up flame gas pedals.
-
It was just a beat up old farm truck with a plain gm goodwrench crate motor. By far the most rusted up ugliest vehicle I have ever owned but the most reliable. She had a very rough life after I got her but shes still goin two owners after me. Exhaust still cut off and air cleaner lid still flipped upside down...
-
It was basically just a old mud truck lifted 12 inches with 35 12.50 tires dual pipes with glass packs and a big block. A very straight bodied vehicle except the bright green race stripes someone put on before I bought her.
-

This was an amazing car and loved driving it. Unfortunately its life was cut short due to an accident where it ended up upside down. Luckily no one was injured.

I was only 12 years old, but one of our local dealers advertised "fishing" cars for $25. I convinced my Dad this would be a great way for me to learn about cars. In the next 3 years, I assembled and disassembled along with learning how to drive a stick in our yard. Even though I've owned all major domestic brands, I still am partial to ...
